Monthly Report #1.

Udah sebulan lebih nih di Jepang. Rasanya aneh aja kalo nggak nulis di blog. Harusnya sih semua pengalaman ditulis ya. Tapi… rasanya malas… hehehe.

Ok, gw memutuskan untuk nggak akan nulis pengalaman sehari-hari di Jepang (hari ini saya pergi ke sini, melakukan ini itu, ngelihat ini itu) di blog ini. Pengalaman gw kayaknya cukup dituangkan lewat foto-foto yang diupload di facebook sajah.

Instead, gw akan tulis hal paling berkesan yang gw saksikan di sini… Kali ini berhubungan dengan sifat-sifat orang Jepang.

Kayaknya seluruh dunia udah tau, orang Jepang itu pekerja keras, disiplin, berdedikasi, dll. Ya iyalah, dalam soal dedikasi, siapa yang bisa ngalahin bangsa yang punya budaya bunuh diri kalau gagal dalam pekerjaannya?

Tapi ada hal lain yang buat gw sangat mengesankan.

Orang Jepang itu perhatian banget sama kebutuhan orang lain.

Terutama kebutuhan orang yang berkebutuhan khusus (cacat, ibu hamil, orang tua, dsb). Contoh yang pernah gw lihat:

• Ada boks bayi di kantor kependudukan buat ngebantu orang-orang yang bawa anak. Orang Indonesia mana kepikiran nyediain boks bayi kayak gitu?
• Ada kacamata di counter bank dan kantor layanan publik lainnya buat memudahkan orang lanjut usia ngurus administrasi.
• Di kampus, setiap lift punya set tombol khusus yang letaknya lebih rendah untuk ngebantu orang berkursi roda.
• Kursi khusus orang tua, orang cacat, dan ibu hamil di kereta.
• Di festival balon di Saga yang gw datengin, ada orang yang bertugas menjelaskan jalannya festival pake bahasa isyarat buat ngebantu orang tunarungu.
• Eh ini sih bukan orang berkebutuhan khusus ya… hehe. Kloset di Jepang punya fitur “flush sound”, supaya suara yang ditimbulkan ketika beraktivitas di dalam kamar mandi (halah) ketutupan dan nggak bikin malu. Sekilas nggak penting ya, tapi diperhatiin juga sama orang Jepang…
• Sering ada external defibrillator di tempat-tempat umum untuk pertolongan pertama kalau-kalau ada yang serangan jantung.
• Di Kyukodai, mahasiswa asing dikasih tutor satu-satu buat mempermudah settling in dengan kehidupan di Jepang. Gw ngerasain banget manfaatnya. Kalau nggak ada tutor, dan kita nggak bisa berbahasa Jepang, gimana coba mau ngurus administrasi pas baru dateng?
• dan masih banyak contoh lainnya…

Mudah-mudahan Indonesia bisa segera menyusul jadi bangsa yang perhatian. ^^
